The EDGE2 data center, expected to be the largest in downtown Jakarta, will leverage Nortek’s StatePoint® liquid cooling technology to achieve an ambitious annualized design PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.27, significantly lower than the global average of 1.55. This technology not only enhances energy efficiency but also reduces water consumption, aligning with EDGE DC’s ESG agenda and its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

Nortek’s StatePoint technology represents a breakthrough in data center cooling, utilizing a patented membrane exchanger to enable evaporative cooling through a microporous membrane. This innovation significantly reduces annual power and water consumption, making EDGE2 one of the most efficient data centers in the market. The facility is also on track to achieve LEED Gold certification, the highest international standard for green buildings, and is expected to be Ready-for-Service by the end of 2023.

Sustainability Roadmap in EDGE DC

EDGE DC continues to make significant progress towards its sustainability goals. In addition to utilizing 100% REC at its EDGE1 facility, the company has partnered with Waste4Change to ensure that all waste from the data center is reused or recycled, preventing any waste from going to landfill. These initiatives are part of EDGE DC’s broader commitment to supporting the Indonesian government’s target of achieving 23% renewables in the electricity mix by 2025.

Doddy B.
