Virtus Technology Indonesia (Virtus), a leading provider of IT and digital infrastructure solutions, successfully hosted the annual Virtus Showcase 2022 on September 15, 2022, at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta. This offline event brought together experts and practitioners in edge computing and distributed enterprise to discuss current trends, challenges, and future opportunities.
Under the theme “Edge of Distributed Enterprise: Embracing the Next Digital Wave”, Virtus Showcase 2022 highlighted the shift towards distributed enterprise models, emphasizing the importance of edge computing in processing and analyzing data at its source. This approach supports remote working, distributed access to products and services, and unlimited media consumption, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Gartner, by 2025, 75% of enterprise-generated data will be created and processed outside traditional centralized data centers or clouds, driven by the deployment of IoT devices across business, consumer, and government sectors, including smart cities.

Stephanus Oscar highlighted the early stages of edge computing adoption in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of security and infrastructure readiness for successful implementation. The event also showcased collaborations with leading IT vendors like VMware, Dell Technologies, and Huawei, aiming to accelerate digital transformation journeys.
Virtus Showcase 2022 was supported by global IT vendors, including VMware, Dell Technologies, Huawei, Trend Micro, Red Hat, Arista, Palo Alto, and Yugabyte, demonstrating the industry’s commitment to advancing edge computing and distributed enterprise solutions.
