Jakarta, November 27, 2023 – PT Indointernet Tbk (Indonet) and its subsidiary, PT. Ekagrata Data Gemilang (EDGE DC), one of Indonesia’s leading digital infrastructure providers, have taken real action to support environmental conservation by planting 3,200 Mangrove seedlings on Tidung Kecil Island in Jakarta. The activity was held as part of the company’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility, as well as to celebrate Tree Planting Day in Indonesia,  which falls on November 24, 2023.

Tidung Kecil Island was chosen as the planting location due to its rich coastal ecosystem sustainability. Mangroves were chosen as the focus of planting because of their crucial role in preserving the coastal ecosystem, protecting the shore from erosion, and providing vital habitat for various marine species.

Aldi Ghazaldi, Head of Human Resources of Indonet and EDGE DC, stated in an official statement, “Environmental conservation is an integral part of our company’s mission. With the planting of 3,200 mangrove seedlings, we aim to provide a real positive contribution to supporting environmental sustainability, while also commemorating Indonesian Tree Planting Day. We believe that through real actions such as mangrove planting, we can make a significant positive impact for the environment and share an inspirational example for other companies,” he added.

Mangrove Jakarta Community, a partner in this activity, also appreciates Indonet’s commitment. Paundra Hanutama, founder of Mangrove Jakarta Community, stated, “We are proud to collaborate with Indonet in efforts to preserve the coastal ecosystem. This collaboration is a significant step in supporting our common goal of maintaining environmental sustainability.”

This mangrove planting activity is not only a real action to preserve the environment, but also a form of Indonet’s commitment to continue playing an active role in building sustainability with the community and the environment. All parties involved hope that this activity can inspire other companies and the general public to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts. Indonet is committed to make continuous positive contributions in social and environmental aspects, fulfilling its role as a positive agent of change both within and outside the company.
